The Department of Homeland Security would receive $1.38 billion for fencing along the southern border and agencies affected by the 35-day government shutdown would be funded through Sept. 30 under the conference agreement on H. J. Res. 31, the vehicle for a seven-bill spending package. The measure represents an agreement between House and Senate negotiators on border security funding and related issues.
“This agreement denies funding for President Trump’s border wall and includes several key measures to make our immigration system more humane,” according to a news release from House Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Nita Lowey (D-N.Y.).
The agreement would allocate the following amounts under the covered spending measures:
