House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would like to see action before the end of the month on the debt ceiling, however the negotiations between the administration and Congress remain fraught. Congressional leaders acknowledge that if no deal is reached by the July 26 six-week recess, September will leave little time before the U.S. government would begin to default on its debt.
Mueller Testimony
Mark your calendars, Special Counsel Robert Mueller will appear before the House Judiciary Committee next Wednesday, 7/17 at 09:00 to answer questions about Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election . With two hours allotted for testimony, each party will get an hour for questioning under a released schedule. Mueller will also appear before the House Intelligence Committee at 12:00.
